Conversion of Legacy FoxPro System to Visual FoxPro
This client had a large set of business critical legacy applications written in FoxPro, accessing data stored in FoxPro data tables. The challenge was to develop an
effective method for converting these applications into more object oriented Visual FoxPro applications, while at the same time making any necessary Y2K changes.
Working with the client’s IT staff we researched available methodologies and tools. We then designed and prototyped an efficient approach for making this transition.
After the prototypes had proven this approach and we had documented the procedure, the client's in-house IT staff with the help of contract programmers successfully converted these legacy applications into Visual
FoxPro.
