Absolutely Fresh Flowers
Absolutely Fresh Flowers sells flowers to customers who call in. These flowers are delivered by FedEx.
They needed an effective, windows based system for rapidly taking orders over the phone, charging credit cards, creating shipping labels, tracking customers and managing their mailing lists.
The system needed to support high transaction speeds, allowing many operators to accept and charge orders simultaneously, but did not require a client-server system.
We developed a set of applications that successfully implemented these requirements. We also connected the order entry system to their web site so that orders placed there can be captured into the order entry system.
Products used:
Microsoft's Visual FoxPro. This provided an object oriented, rapid development environment and a high performance data engine.
PC Charge. We integrated this off-the-shelf product into the order taking application to provide the technology for charging credit cards.
